Not legal advice
ContractScanner is an automated, rule-based scanning tool. It identifies common contract red-flag patterns and provides general, plain-English information about what they typically mean and how they are commonly negotiated. It does not review your specific situation, is not a substitute for a licensed attorney, and does not create an attorney-client relationship. Always consult a qualified attorney before signing a contract with meaningful legal or financial consequences.
No guarantee of accuracy or completeness
ContractScanner's scan is based on a fixed library of text patterns. It may miss risky clauses that are unusually worded, and it may flag clauses that are not actually problematic in your specific context. Use it as a fast first pass, not a definitive risk assessment.
Acceptable use
ContractScanner is provided for personal and business use in reviewing your own contracts. You agree not to use the service to attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer for malicious purposes, or overload the site's infrastructure.
Accounts
Scanning a contract requires a free account, created by verifying access to an email address (no password is used). You're responsible for maintaining access to that email address, since it's the only way to sign in. One free scan is included per account, for the lifetime of the account — this limit does not reset or refresh.
Pro subscription and billing
Pro removes the one-scan limit for $29/month, billed automatically each month until cancelled. Subscriptions are billed and managed through Stripe; we do not process or store your payment details ourselves. You can cancel anytime from your account page — cancellation stops future billing but does not refund the current billing period, and Pro access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. Downgrading or cancelling does not restore a used free scan.
Free service, "as is"
ContractScanner is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We may change, limit, or discontinue any part of the service, including pricing or the free-scan allowance, at any time — we'll update this page and the Pricing page if we do.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ContractScanner and its operators are not liable for any damages, losses, or claims arising from your use of, or reliance on, the scan results or any information provided on this site.
